Here is another common marketing mistake you are doing on Instagram that is preventing you from growing your business.

3- Captions

Some say captions are not crucial if you have a good design you will get likes and voilà goal reached

Seriously! If you meet someone you like their looks, they are simply stunning you are attracted to them, but as soon as they open their mouth they are full of nonsense 🤦🏼‍♀️ would you even bother continuing to listen or wasting your time with that person! Surely not!

The same thing for your caption, the design is impressive whether your audience likes it or not that is not the topic (we will talk about this in a later post). We are looking for here is that if your caption made your audience want to read more about your business, product or service. And mainly if your captions are not following your content strategy, well copy written you just lost a client and wasted your time and energy on creating the entire post!

a few tips on how to ensure you have a lead-generating caption

  1. Start with an attractive 115-character line to create interest. If you are a marketing agency here’s an example “Fire your CEO and marketing team if they are not making you converting leads into customers…” catchy no?! Or if you are a divorce firm “I betrayed my husband with his best friend, and he knew about it…”

  2. Caption content layout should be easy to scroll through rather than putting everything in one paragraph create breaks, make it indexable.

  3. Add 2 types of call to action. The first call to action is for engagement. It’s the “yes.” You are looking for as you can get someone to like or comment on something. The second call to action is where you direct people to the link in your bio to take the next step with you. Ultimately, you don’t own your Instagram audience (Instagram does!), so it is wise to move people to where you do business, your website or APP! Do this by separating your Bio-Link CTA from your main caption with a solid black line.
